Creating Subscriptions
Subscriptions are requests to be notified via email when files or directories, to which that user has read access, are viewed, changed, or commented. If subscriptions have been turned on by your administrator, you may perform the following.
To create a new Subscription:
- From your directory listing, choose the file or directory to which you wish to subscribe by clicking on that file's or directory's Manage icon.
- From either the file's or directory's information screen, click on the "Subscriptions" link.
- Next, click the "Create Subscription" button on the top toolbar.
- Check off the type of subscription according to the table below.
- Choose the frequency of the report as either when the event occurs for an immediate notification or "Daily Report" which sends all notifications for all of your subscriptions at once.
- Click "Ok" when you are done creating your subscription.
- To return to the directory listing, click on your directory of choice.
Note: If choosing the "Daily Report" option for your subscription, the time of
day the daily report is sent is determined by the System Administrator.
"Notify me of" Options
Change Events | Change Events on files include: Change Events on folders include: |
Read Events | A file read event occurs whenever a file is viewed/opened. A folder read event occurs whenever a file within the folder is viewed/opened. |
Comment Events | A comment event occurs whenever a comment is created on a file or folder. |
To cancel an existing Subscription:
- From either the file's or folder's information screen, click on the "Subscriptions" link. This may also be done from the Subscription page under Utilities/Preferences.
- Click the "x" icon in the Unsubscribe column of the subscription you wish to cancel.
- Click "Back" when you have finished canceling subscriptions.
