Changing Your Preferences
Your Preferences are your general, personal settings and information which apply to your user account.
To change one of your Preferences:
- Click on "Preferences" under Utilities.
- Change the appropriate preference according to the guidelines below
- To complete the change, click the "Apply Now" button.
- Click on "Cancel" to close the Preferences window and return to the main screen.
Display Name* | Your Display Name is used when displaying who created, last modified, and owns files and directories. |
Your Email is the address by email functionality throughout the system. |

Language | Your Language is the language used to display all generic text displayed throughout the Web UI. Your Language does not apply to file and directory names. |
Time Zone | Your Time Zone is used when displaying the date when a file or directory was created and last modified. |
Date/Time Style | Your Date/Time style determines how dates and times are displayed throughout your account. Choices range from displaying the date only in a 6 digit format to displaying the weekday, long-form date, time, and time zone. |
Quota | Your Quota is the maximum amount of space in megabytes you may upload to your My Vault section. Once you reach your Quota limit, you will no longer be able to upload files unless you free space by deleting other files and emptying the trash can. You may or may not be able to change your Quota based upon how the system you are using has been configured. |
Session expired | The amount of time your login session stays valid. For greater security, reduce the time (e.g., to 10 minutes). For greater convenience, increase the time (e.g., to One Day). |
Password** | Your Password is only used when logging in. When changing your password, it must be at least 6 characters long. If choosing to change your password, you will be required to enter your old password for security purposes. You will also be required to enter your new password twice to avoid the possibility of typographical errors. Should you forget your password, there is currently no method for retrieving your password. You must contact your system administrator or support staff in order to have your password reset. |
Group Categories | Some VaultCONNECT skins support categorization of workspaces. If this option shows up in your preferences, you may categorize your workspaces for easier management in the My Workspaces section. |
Address Book | Your Contacts contain the personal and company contacts you wish to maintain information about. Only the personal contact list can be edited by the user. The "Company" address book is administered by the company administrator. |
View Subscriptions | Subscriptions display a list of the file and directory notifications to which you have subscribed. From here, you may cancel any current subscriptions. To create or edit subscriptions, do so from the Information screen of the specific file or directory. |
